ScribeConcepts Web and SEO

Founded 21 years ago by Christopher Brasted, ScribeConcepts is a leader in education publishing. With the passing of the founder in 2022, and with an expanded reach and goals, the organization looked for a new website design complete with Search Engine Optimization to reach new clients in new fields and new areas.

After a previous designer’s work didn’t line up with the organization’s new brand, Humble Onion Creative was contracted to create a functional, design-focused website highlighting the organization’s tagline: “Effortlessly Accessible.”

Process

After reviewing organizational goals in conjunction with social media services, we completed competitive analysis and market research and determined initial steps to be:

  • Setting up Google My Business Profile 

  • Setting up and connecting Google Analytics 

  • Updating Name, Address, and Phone (NAP) listing for major search engines 

  • Implementing more informative content that is keyword-rich 

  • Making text more readable and accessible 

  • Provide relevant meta descriptions 

  • Build backlinks 

  • Craft SEO strategy for blogs, web, and social media

These efforts allowed ScribeConcepts to be able to access leads, engage with current stakeholders, and prioritize search engine optimization – they were on the path to success!

Website Design

Before, the website felt very static, square-heavy, and was largely inaccessible. For the design process, we:

  • Infused the new brand, including wavy, curved visuals

  • Set up a mobile-friendly website

  • Restructured for user experience and readability

  • Repurposed the footer with only relevant information

  • Updated the blog layout for readability

Search Engine Optimization

While the website was in tip-top shape, the technical side still needed work. To bolster efforts, we ran analytics on the website one week after publishing, then proceeded to:

  • Edit all pages for on-page SEO

  • Update all blog content with SEO keywords, headings, metadata, and alt text

  • Fix headings and titles for more accurate crawling

  • Updated internal links and backlinks

  • Took the site’s health from 69% to 90%
