Our Story
We met in 2016 after starting our first jobs at Gatehouse Media’s Center for News & Design, Kali as a Page Designer/Copy Editor and Sam as a Proofreader.
We bonded over a love of music, good food, and exploration in Austin, Texas.
In 2017, Kali moved to Florence, Alabama, for a new job opportunity. Sam missed her too much and realized there was something more. We began a long-distance relationship in 2018.
In October 2021, Sam joined Kali in Florence, Alabama, and proposed in October 2025.
We moved to Dayton, Ohio, in February 2026 and hope you’ll come visit our new home soon!

We wanted our day to be quiet, intimate, and in one of our favorite places: St. Edwards Park. Since we met in Austin and fell in love with the city as well as each other, it only made sense to make it official there.

Our reception will be Saturday, July 3, 2027 at Culinary Dropout in Charlotte, NC.

Our families and friends are spread out from Washington State to Connecticut to Florida to Texas. Regardless of the location, 75% of our invitees were going to have to travel. We chose Charlotte because it is a relatively central location for our northern and southern families, and is a beloved vacation spot for us. We hope you’ll join us and see why we chose it!

Absolutely! We will be in Charlotte until July 9, and would love to meet for meals, exploring the city, or sunning at the lake. Please let us know as soon as possible so we can plan time with you!

We know we ooze sophistication and black tie affairs, but we’re keeping it casual. The bridge and groom will dress smart casual, but you’re welcome to wear what makes you comfortable, from jeans and T-shirts to three-piece suits.
